Menoizikul; Midweek Musicalisms

We began the month with a chant to the Great Physician, let us end with one. This mantra is here given in close to pure traditional form. There is much made of mathematics in Sanskrit, so to chant anything, best value is achieved when used 11, 27, 54, 108, 1008.... times. As I am only introducing you to this practice, here we are sticking to the eleven cycle.

"We worship the three-eyed One, who is fragrant and who nourishes all.
Like the fruit falls off from the bondage of the stem, may we be liberated from death, from mortality."

The translation may look odd. This mantra is used a lot for the sick and elderly. However, it is also a profound prayer for courage in the face of all sorts of traumas. We can use it to forward healing energy to those parts of the world where death is a daily prospect, long-term health of mind and body may occur, and hunger is a fact.
