Menoturals; Spring Springs

Today's Nature Friday offering is by way of a short video, taken a couple of weekends back when I was at Falkland. There's a little bit of wind sound as I rotate, but listen out for all the birds... Merlin tells me all these were singing at the time...

  1. nothing better than bird sounds and breezes, sunshine and greens of nature. this is what we hear when we walk at sunrise each day, I love the sounds, I thought I heard a crow, so maybe that is the jackdaw sound. or maybe jackdaw is a word for crow. but we here a lot of those on our walk, and 2 really silly and loud mocking birds. they make me giggle hearing them sing through their song sets

  4. Hi Yam - sounds wonderful with the birds singing so loudly and happily in the Spring sunshine. I can't quite place the blue flowers ... the daffs I know! ... the little blue ones - I don't think they're bluebells ... but it all looks so lush and green. But that wind ...??? Cheers - lovely to listen to, thank you - cheers Hilary

They are Wood Squill (Scilla Siberica)... the wind was a tad chill, but not that bad. The microphone unfortunately makes it sound worse. Yxx

  5. I can safely say, YAM, that I not going to hear any of those species on my walk today! Might hear and see a couple of their kissing cousins though.

  8. Oh what a lovely and fun video - such pretty scenery and sounds of Spring. While we don't have rooks or jackdaws in the U.S., I recognize the call of a Corvid family member when I hear it.
