For
Nature Friday this week, I bring you trees... if any among you do not like trees - WHY???
You don't need words from me. Just enjoy the photos! (With maybe a few words to help out...)
 |
Point of interest - it is from the Deodar that we get the word 'deodarant', due to the sweet smell produced from the leaves and bark |

This one looked so pretty... I thought perhaps a Larch Checking later, I was close - it is the Oriental Larch. Here's a close-up of those lovely points! |
Love the sweet chestnut bark. Who doesn't love trees? Well someone in our 'forested' community apparently and she was stupid enough to post that view on the community FB page. Not in my garden she said. (Said garden is twee. I would go so far as to say extremely NAF given its location.)
ReplyDeleteThe Himalayan cedars do have a divine charm. Devadaru in Sanskrit, tree of gods.
ReplyDeletehow beautiful... all good things come in trees ;O)))
ReplyDeleteTruly amazing
ReplyDeleteEach of these trees is MAGNIFICENT!!!!! I love trees, all trees and these are all prime specimens and wow on you photography skills capturing their beauty for us to see. it is hard to say which I like best but will go with the Tree of the Gods..
ReplyDeleteWe love trees and all of the different bark colors and textures. They provide shade and who doesn't love that on a hot summer day!
ReplyDeleteI never met a tree I didn't love and never will. Recently we had to remove an aging birch in our backyard, or sooner or later it was going to come down in a windstorm and take out our roof or the neighbour’s. It was rotten in many places with insect depredation clearly visible and a few branches had fallen down in windstorms. It had to be done (or so I tell myself) but I feel profoundly sad that I have subjected this wonder of nature to human whim and denied it the dignity of returning to the earth to deliver its nutrients and fulfill its role in the eternal cycle of life, death and rebirth. It met an ignominious end in the maw of a wood chipper. A very sad end for a proud tree.
ReplyDeleteI love all the trees, they are beautiful photos. Take care, have a great day and a happy weekend.
