What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.
Our third birthday boy for the month is Nicola Perpora, August 17th, 1686, Italy. This is a slightly florid piece (for my ear), but the musicians are paying much loving attention!
looks and sounds like they are all very happy with themselves and the music. everynow and then, the notes are discordant to my ear, but most of it is beautiful
Some of my favorite music comes from this time period. I have heard of him more thasn a few times on programs dedicated to baroque music. I like that there is no 'conductor', the first violin is leading the ensemble. The soloist is using a 'period' bow, not like the ones most cellists would be using today. Seems to me this was recorded as a Christmastime concert. I thoroughly enjoyed this! I even turned off what I had been listneing to on the radio. (Mendelssohn)
Melody and harmony!
ReplyDeleteIt is a tad florid, YAM, but not at all unpleasant. In fact I found the piece quite charming and will listen to it again.
ReplyDeleteA pleasant sound, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteTake care, have a great day!
Absolutely gorgeous♥
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy watching how much in sync the musicians as they seem to nod as they play.
ReplyDeleteVery soothing
Hugs Cecilia
