What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menonday Art Vibe; Mobilia

Okay, for the next few weeks, we are returning to the RSA open exhibition at the National Gallery of Scotland, which Mac1 and I visited in March. Art is present in our lives for all sorts of reasons. First, for the artist, expression and experimentation. Then, for the viewer, interpretation and amusement... or, occasionally, disgust. The Damian Hirsts and Tracy Emins of the world do not appeal to me, but for many people they are worth the hundreds of thousands of pounds they command. Then again, some of the things of which I am greatly fond fail to impress others. This is the wonder, the conundrum of art. It is so very much in the eye of the beholder.

People often say, "I don't 'get' it". That's okay. It's not necessary to 'get' something. Find what you can for yourselves, I say in return!

Anyway. First, the moving sculptures that caught my eye and had me lingering, watching and listening for a little while. This demanded a little video rather than a still photo.

  1. That thud-thud sound is quite eerie, especially since I played the video at about 5 in the morning. Very still and dark outside.
