Menoizikul; Midweek Musicalisms

The second composer of the month is Johann Casper Ferdinand Fischer, Krasno, Czechia, 9th of September, 1656.

This chaconne would be a gentle sound anyway... but as played here by the Lithuanian organist, Ausra Motuzaite-Pinkeviciene on a Swedish church organ, it is truly sublime.

  1. Thank you, Yamini, for not only the sublime music, but also leading me to read up on Swedish church organ, its history, and evolution. I always learn something new from your posts. :-)

  5. Beautiful and brings back memories of my childhood in Kentucky, there were many similar organs there, and even homes had the old pump style organ as did our church

  6. Truly sublime as you say, YAM. The distinct sound of a pipe organ is seductive. Many only associate organ music with religious observation, but there is a whole canon of secular pieces.
