Menokreatikkul; Saturday Stitches

...and here we are facing the fall of the year into its closing months. As someone kindly pointed out in a post earlier this week, it's but 15 shopping weeks till Christmas! I spotted iced fruit cakes when doing this week's groceries. Sigh...

Having spent a month doing no stitchery at all, I need to get my hooks back in action. That includes the Timelines project. I confess that things may have to be adapted on that one. More about that in due course.

I went through the bought and paid for patterns I have on file to see what inspiration might strike.

I love Tinna's videos, and her patterns are always well-written. I did do one of her small bag (pencil case) mosaic patterns a few years back. I love the idea of trying something much larger, but have never quite got myself prepped for it. Never mind... these wee stars are fun and could be made in all sorts of colourways to represent different seasons. You can see all her available patterns over at Ravelry. Another of Tinna's that I have is the Fiesta patchwork...

That would keep me out of mischief! It suits the use of all those multicolours that I tend to have hanging around. Maybe not another blanket this year... some cushion/pillow covers?

It might be time to add to my shawl collection, don't you think? How about this one?

Then again, I have a couple similar to this. Perhaps I ought to consider purchasing one of Katya's many other patterns on Ravelry. She produces very delicate, but also quite solid pieces of much beauty. In fact, even as I prepare this post, I find myself purchasing both Solstice and Hourglass shawl patterns!

What do you reckon? Are you inspired by any of these? I have lists of free patterns as well... this one is perfect for a quick little hook-up!

  1. I like the shawl very much. It reminds me of a spider web. I'm not ready to let go of summer but it seems we're given no choice.
