Menoizikul; Midweek Musicalisms
Next on the birthday list is Einojuhani Rautavaara, 9th October 1928, Helsinki. This composer covered a lot of stylistic territory, some of it I loved, some rather less so. His father was an opera singer who was also interested in classical folk songs, which may have influenced his son when he composed the following item, which I found quite charming—and as one with choral experience, I can appreciate the virtuosity required for it. What say you?

I really like your selections, Yamini. They are not the ones I am used to listening here, and it's a refreshing change. With the little writeups they are informative too.
