What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Continuing this mini-exhibition of the Edinburgh painter's works, I think you will have no trouble recognising this great landmark, the Forth Rail Bridge. An iconic feature of the Scottish landscape for some 160 years, there have been many renditions and depictions, but this is as good as any. I know this angle well, viewed from South Queensferry, looking across the Firth of Forth towards the north, and Dalgetty Bay.

ReplyDeleteOh I do so admire those who paint and build bridges.

Love it! Tigris, Styx and Lanie too
ReplyDeleteDiese berühmte Eisenbahnbrücke werde ich sicher nie in echt sehen. Das Bild ist sehr schön. Die rote Farbe der Brücke ist sehr auffällig. Ist die Brücke in echt genau so gefärbt?

DeleteIn fact, the colour here is muted, almost brown. The actual colour is quite red... if you care to, you can scroll through this post, which features all three of the crossings of the firth. On one, you will see a close-up of one part of the Rail Bridge and how red it is! Yxx
What a beautiful painting.
ReplyDeleteArt is not at all my forte!
