What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menoloopal [men-oh-loo-pal]; the condition of being sent mental

Haven't had 'loop' for a wee while… this one is relatively tame.  Now.  A few days back, not so much.

Regulars, thank you for the support through continued comments; for yes, it was the etherwobblies which nearly sent me over the edge.  I will not bore you with details, all present are used to such things I am sure.

This one turned out to be a tad odd however as it was all tied in with the download of update on antiviral software - and which is now blocking me from using my beloved Chrome browser!!!  Yesterday at the provider store things were set right - we thought, but when I got back and dove straight online to catch up, was told in no uncertain terms "WEB PAGE UNAVAILABLE".

Nonsense.  Or words akin to that.

Finally, following the nose, as one must, some small print detail winkled its way into my awareness and hinted at the possibility that the AV s/w firewall or similar could be creating some issue.

Needless to say, am still trying to work that one out…

So this arrives having been (hopefully) posted via the (what seems to me now) draconian Internet Explorer.  Chrome is slick, it is pretty and it moves fast (when connections comply).  Today, IE was trundling along like a surrey with a fringe on top.

So you still do not have a full and meaningful post to give you a giggle or tickle your logicator, but I did want to get this off my noggin and set the record straight.  As wonderful as all this techo stuffs be, it really hit home how much I have found myself relying on it being present.  Absence nearly tore the heart out.  That was Sunday.  By Monday I was regaining self-control not to say a modicum of self-respect.  By Tuesday, when it refused to crank up at all, I was resigned to a night of additional study.  Thoroughly enjoyed myself.  Got ahead of the game.  Hhhmmmmm…

But this is the 21st century.  The computer and associated connections are not going away.  As one migrates back into the 'outside' very soon, this will not only be a toy of stress relief, it must become a tool of service.

Hopefully the products in OZ/UK will prove more reliable.

Or am I in lala land???

I Love you all with that capital 'ell' and thank you again for seeing it through.  Tomorrow it gets better - there's something on the meNu!!!

YAM xxx

  1. I'm so old I can get by with having books to read. But if I have nothing to read, watch out!
Right now the TV in the living room isn't working. It's the TV that records our favourite shows for us to watch at our convenience, and my husband is seriously put out. He didn't even ask my permission before promising the service provider that I'd be home tomorrow afternoon when a techie is coming to look at it.
What if I wanted to get my hair cut? HE got HIS hair cut yesterday without warning me.
Men. Just be glad all your Meno-whatevers don't have husbands. Tee hee.
    Luv, K

  2. The first picture reminded me of you and Jade. When I would visit she would greet me at the door, and take me to your office room. Some rumblings from Jade, that mum was not that happy, as this Internet was playing up again. And she would sit like the dog in the picture watching you, mmmmm having a go t it. ( sorry had to choose my words carefully). So all I have to do is replace Jade dogs pic with the dog watching, and your pic sitting on the chair. The expressions I am afraid remain the same.
    Take care my dear.

  4. Ouch! As another Chrome lover I feel your pain, Yam. Have you checked that you have the latest version of Chrome, in case that makes a difference. I know it normally updates itself without us noticing, but it's just a thought.....

Here's to restoration of full service before long.

Thanks Perpetua, but the trubs seem mainly to stem from this updated antivirus s/w - never mind that the dongle connection has never been all that strong anyway...sigh. Still fighting on though. YAM xx
