…Well actually, it’s not the
menopolyxinaemia which is causing me trubs now (other than giving me a short
fuse on patience and mood). Rather it is darling little Voovoo the Vaio. She has become unwell to the point she
refused to do anything I asked of her on Sunday – which is why you got the
stopgap post yesterday.
After much fiddling and faddling, I have
found ways around a few of her blocks.
For example, now the mouse has to be clicked on the left instead of the
right and then the enter button often has to be pressed afterwards in order to
execute the required task. Frequently,
things will not respond at all. Thus,
this post is being typed up on Monday morning on Word and I shall go in search
of a position at either the library or an internet outlet with the fervent
desire to let you know what is happening - - the show must go on!!!
That said, I am uncertain just how much I
can manage between now and leaving for Scotland. That is a mere 14 days away now, so if in the
end I am forced to make a temporary gap in transmissions (sigh) the it will
just have to be.
Let’s see.
If this has reached you, there is hope!
I have spent the morning copying ALL my
files onto pen drives (USB sticks) which had not already be done and so have a complete
record separate to Voovoo. Mac3 is the
family IT professional. I once was, but
not so much for PCs – mainframes were my thing.
I will unload Google Chrome as the suspicion is pointing in that
direction. Something to do with the
message “he’s dead Jim!”. I am a great
Google fan and if this has all been caused via their installations, I shall be
most disappointed. My regular backup and
maintenance tasks were last done on leaving Mumbai, so have done what I can
again now and well start delving around in the guts later.
Oh it’s all sent to try us. [heaves another heavy sigh…]
Don’t fret.
YAM’s never down for long!!
Loving you all with the capital ‘ell’.
What a trial! I hope all goes well. Great excitement!
ReplyDeleteHmmm...Voovoo sounds like she needs a swift kick in the well, you know!
ReplyDeleteYikes!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back in contact despite the gremlins, but with a move halfway across the world now imminent, you have more important things to do. :-)
ReplyDeleteMake sure you've plenty of warm clothes handy, as British temperatures may come as a bit of a shock after Mumbai and Sydney.
Hari OM
ReplyDeleteam managing to post anything and read/comment at all due to having this wonderful friend, Emm!! A bit erratic, but still here!
