THE HAWKSBURY CONTINUED...

The settlement of the area around Brooklyn has been for much longer than white-man presence.  There as a wonderful display of informational boards again and this was one of particular interest.

It is the rocks of the area which I particularly like - they are large.  Very large.  Warm and comforting somehow.

This one is so impressive, the refurbished foreshore wall was built around it.

Here one can clearly see the formation of the sandstone in almost shale-like layers

Looking up to the top of the bluff, one is faced with massive boulders which have clearly been balanced on the steep incline for significant numbers of years - yet there is an eerie thought that at any moment they could decide to 'rock and roll'!!

Along the pathway, it is easy to see the full integration of Nature; an elder tree has found its niche among its cousins!

Oh, Gail is pointing out that Oz is scarcely 'round here' and that there is anyway surely room for more rock hounds in cyberspace.

Two super posts, Yam. I know what you mean about going back to a place after a long gap and seeing the changes. Here at least one can see the reason for them. :-)
