The
settlement of the area around Brooklyn has been for much longer than white-man
presence. There as a wonderful display
of informational boards again and this
was one of particular interest.

It is the rocks of the area which I particularly like - they are large. Very large. Warm and comforting somehow.

Here one can clearly see the formation of the sandstone in almost shale-like layers

Looking up to the top of the bluff, one is faced with massive boulders which have clearly been balanced on the steep incline for significant numbers of years - yet there is an eerie thought that at any moment they could decide to 'rock and roll'!!

Along the pathway, it is easy to see the full integration of Nature; an elder tree has found its niche among its cousins!
