WYSIWYG

What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Monday is menosukhi day - the one in which I go all sentimental.

Back here in OZ you may be forgiven for thinking I have forgotten all about the'J's…  NOT SO!  Their time is coming to an end though and I wish to put some effort and thought into their posts.  You might be under the impression that I would have the time for that now.  Again, not really.  In fact, it is not only a matter of time, it is a matter of clearing the headspace.  If you have been watching closely, the impact of OZ on my system has stirred much up and there is also rather a lot to ponder as I get things organised still further for the great switcherooni of lands, indeed, hemispheres!

It's tending to make me a bit - well - menosukhi.  Not blubbery or anything.  Just a bit gooey.  For example; there was this…

Yup.  Meet New Ted.  A stuffie toy of the cuddlesome variety.  This is what I have resorted to in absence of a real bear - or cat or dog or hielan' coo…  I am hoping she has been 'newted' as I don't want a case of tribbles to have to pack!  New Ted was purchased for noble purposes mind you.  It was Pink Ribbon day, in which much is collected for research and support of those with Breast Cancer.  In memory of mum.

Further example; have taken a serious interest in this…

Oh yes, you've met him.  Remus Lupine Selvadurai.  Sampling the new 'couch'.

Still more examples;  well, I found these down at the park didn't I?

Mama duck still had two of the ducklings with her - the others were around but more independent.

They were some 15 feet below me on the creek but the minute I stopped to photograph them, they scrambled for all they were worth up the banking to say hello… Mama kept a yard or two distant but the wee ones both came and sat at my feet!!  Seriously.

I was so overwhelmed with menosukhi that all I managed was this one photo of the closeness.

They literally settled right at my feet for all of perhaps 30 seconds, then toddled off again.

It was  not about food, because there was no begging or pecking.  I clearly did not have any food anyway.  It was simply a spontaneous moment and one in which I found great joy.

Everybody say, awwwwwwwwwwww…..

  7. Wow, that's wonderful about the young ducks. They must have recognized you as a good person. If they tried to rush up to a baddie that way, Mama Duck would have been right there to protect them.
I'm glad you don't have a real bear, although I'm sure if you got a young one you'd manage to tame it, but I've seen plenty of bears and much as I love Winnie the Pooh, I don't want a real bear.
Sorry I haven't been commenting much lately. I've been under the weather, but, the weather being cold, I have been under the weather indoors.
Catch up with you soon, I hope.
Meanwhile, your raindrop photos are glorious.
    Luv, K
