Menozplorer - nearing the end

As I find my feet back here in Scotland, I shall continue to share with you a few more scenes from the Wide Brown Land.  With all the rain we had during my few weeks there, though, it was looking rather greener than it might!!

The agapanthus sprung forth.

It is of the lily family and I love it, but it can take over if you don't dig out the root bulbs every couple of years.

The florets are very similar in colour to the Jacaranda's, but don't drop or create quite such a mess.

I have heard these referred to as "storm lilies" or "marsh lilies" - they are used a lot by councils and developers for landscaping as they seem to survive just about anything!   Now here are a couple of fine fungi to finish the eye-feast for today  &*>

  2. I a have storm lily or two I like their flowers but they don't last to long.
    I visited your country in 2000 but it was in Autumn I would like to see some photos of your countryside in the spring, summer and winter months.

    Bertie/Gail - many of the gums are indeed fascinating... am off to Bute next week to 'recce' the territory!!

    Merle - not they don't, but they are prolific, so rarely without at least a couple of blooms I notice... and patience m'dear, am building a file and Scotland in all shades will follow e'er long!!!
