It's simply that I am down with Aitch in Suffolk again. Last night's presentation was reasonably successful; inevitable technical hitch of course, but YAM just kept on talking instead. With contemplative gaps... sigh. No seriously, it was a valuable and worthwhile experience and the listeners apparently paid attention because there were some excellent questions after.
You have been reading about my early life here and the bio will continue in a short while; the talk was centered on this but with the academic twist of "what makes anyone migrate?" What are the motivations? Taking some basic concepts I then applied them to my own REPATRIATE'S EXPATRIATE EXPERIENCE.
Then there was all the grub/tucker/khanna. We had both been beavering away in the kitchen making items of 'nibble' from each of the countries in which I have been resident. Except Scotland.
Shortbread and Edinburgh Rock simply had to arrive in their tartan containers. From the retailers.
Today we are heading off to Cambridge. Aitch is the archivist at Addenbrooke's Hospital and the projector we used has to be returned there first thing. Then we'll play tourist. You know you will be getting those piccies in due course. For today though, this is a straightforward, journalistic entry in the 10 minutes before we depart! Glad you liked yesterday's "reflection"... how about this one?
Spring gorse from the Scottish coast. Brightening up my morning as it is grey and damp down here... it's following me!!!

And I love the photograph. The flowers are gorgeous and I've never thought, when I read the word "gorse" of beautiful yellow flowers. There's one in the upper right that looks for all the world like a bird.
