WYSIWYG

What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menoverload - can there be too much Love???

How was your weekend then - filled with choconess, hugginess, flush-edness...??? I do hope so.  If, like myself, you are of a single disposition, it does not mean there has to be a lack of the warm and fuzzies. For a start, acting as chaPAWrone at the Heart2Heart dance in Blogville on Saturday kept me very busy and there was lots of Love with the capital 'ell' going around... Perhaps a little too much 'lovey-dovey' as well and I had my paws busy watching all the sideroom doors, particularly where Ernie and Roxy were concerned. sigh..... anyhoo, other than that I indulged.  In what? Well apart from Star Trek DVDs and Ruby's mocktails........ These days it is easy to find things online to swell the heart and adorn the face with smiles. Let me share something which did that for me this Valentine's season.

In relation to the following clips, you can read more about Christian HERE. Additionally, (in case it doesn't come up in the 'after boxes') you may wish to watch the FULL DOCO. What you are seeing here is a lion cub who was bought from Harrods (yes... follow through on those links!) by a pair of Aussie blokes who had excellent plans for him.  Getting in touch with George Adamson, they released Christian in Kenya and you see here his reaction to meeting them again after a year of no contact.  The second vid is the second (and last) reunion...

(warning - that song wails out of the first vid... not my doing is all I'll say...)

  1. The human - animal connection is often VERY strong. It's very touching to witness but of course we witness it every day at our house!

  3. Somehow I picked up on that story before the lion was released; how they found him in a carpet warehouse and adopted him. Way before the days of video clips, or even YouTube; I believe it was an article in a magazine. Finding the reunion(s) years later was so satisfying.

  4. The depth of animal feelings is unappreciated by many humans. This story truly shows it.

  6. I've read Christian the hugging lion (ok, it's a children book, but it was good) a couple of years ago and it touched my heart. I'm glad they brought Christian back to the wild. YAY for people from OZ.
