What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Me-Now-Views; Less Speak More Peek

In case any are wondering at the lack of green beneath here, please refer back to Saturday's post!

On Friday I shared the opening of a special gift. In the envelope, there was a piccie of Goose, the 'sender' of said gift.  Where to put the piccie???  Where else but on the fridge!!!

Do you see him? Sitting beneath the one with Jade dog...

I got to thinking, the things on the fridge tell a bit of a story.

Jade is long passed now, but still shouts at me - "Mum the cheesey toast is burning!!!"

There is the miniature water colour Mac1 gave me 30 years back... the Taj Mahal - not that I have been to the building, but of course India, yes...land of my spirit...

...and Australia; land of my heart...

All the critters, who populate my land of Love - see Isaac my sponsor pup below? As well as Jade and Jasper when they were but itty bitty pupple - always together...

When I got back from the latest trip Eastwards, the flat was still standing and, blow me down, the sun was shining! You'll recall the second trip to Edinburgh was, in part, to collect some artwork.  Got round to hammer and nail, finally. One piece still awaits framing - hence the gap in this row...
(They are straight, I promise!  It's the wide-angle lens playing tricks.)

The one on the ground there is from the handful I brought back from OZ... the frame got damaged and so will get that replaced when "Nellie" goes to get framed. Now for close ups... The first are a set of three original works in Kangra style, by disabled artists at CORD; a small indulgence before final departure from India.  The next two are part of the Edinburgh Trio; a fishing boat being constructed in Whitby, called Our Lady II, she is active there, (but, according to artist David Morris, may get transferred to Scotland!); and a piece called "Solitary Journey", by Liz Myhill....

  7. It's always so fun to see the ways people choose to decorate their home. You learn so much about them by seeing their choices.

  14. I like your way to make a storybook from the fridge and it's great that so much things in your house can tell a story and a memory... that's like having a time machine, you can travel back to india or oz while looking on your pictures...

  17. I used to have lots of fridge magnets on my fridge with all sorts of silly things on them (you have one I used to have as well). Nowadays I still have lots of magnets, but now they are more special: mementoes of some of the countries I have been to and some other fun things.

I don't have much art on the wall. Not counting the hallway which is basically a picture gallery with photos of family and friends.
