Instead of the usual trawling of the available smirks on the great etherlibrary, I am doing one of my recycles from the now defunct MY TAKE TOO bloggy. It's been a while since I did that. For newer readers; there was a 4th blog until the start of this year, at which I posted only twice weekly and only my poetry or short story stuff. Have been gradually reintegrating all those into this blog. Not because they are necessarily noteworthy, but because I wish to keep track of what I did, where I am and whether it's getting me anywhere.
This one was one of the early efforts made after discovering the Succinctly Yours meme at Grandma's Goulash.
Splash Zone
Grandma has done it again - given some ingredients for 'goulash'. We are to provide micro-fiction not exceeding 140 characters or 140 words. The picture prompt this week is great fun and the bonus word is ZONE.

Bruno bobbed and splashed; he was focused; he was in his zone; one way or another he would dig to the bottom.

His master cried “NOOOOO, Bruno, that’s the people’s zone”, but too late. The splash was tsunamic!

Zoning out the screams from the parents, Bruno determined he would save their pups by draining the pool himself.

The prompt wasn't all that was great fun - I enjoyed all three of yours! I can't look at the picture now without seeing Bruno digging to the bottom of that pool.
ReplyDeleteI like these, Yam. My vote is for Numbers: 1; 2; and 3. One and two are close and funny, three is dark and brutal (my opinion). I can just see the dog digging in the pool for his bones.
ReplyDelete..
All three are great takes on the word Zone. The image reminds me of me old dog Sunshine!
ReplyDeleteNumber 2 is so Phod!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted you to know we stopped by. Mom's arm is so sore after a shot today that she finds it hard to type.
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Nice :)

ReplyDelete#2 is fabulous... I imagine the screaming people...as wet as river rats from the big splash... pawsome... :o)
