Menolyrical; Words for Words' Sake

A reworking of a post brought over from TAKE TOO.

Redstone capped the beach dark as if to bury himself. Grain by grain he ground his edges. Becoming one with it. "I know my colour", Redstone declared, "I am the colour which light wishes me to be.  May I always reflect the light."

Half a world away, Hettie ran. In this moment free.  Her sister, dark, met her and tossed the grass with her foot. They tussled each other too.  "Red beats black", lowed Hettie.  "How so sister? Know you not our colour is the same? That this grass shares that colour?  Know you not that our colour is determined only by the play of light? Hush now.  Contemplate this; reflect on The Light."
