What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

MenoSunday; LIfe Lived Easy

I had a memory - prompted by seeing a kaftan on a singer in a sound clip a couple of weeks back. My kaftans are long ago worn out. They were great to wear though. Indian 'suits' - the salwaar kameez ('harem' pants and long blouse) with dupatta (shawl) - fill that gap now... I digress on the matter of dress.

The point was I started remembering Sunny Ade. Back in Nigeria days, he was the absolute king-pin of popular West African 'pop'. I bought two of his records whilst we were there - and they only finally left me (along with a few other treasured vinyls) when I divested myself of pretty much everything prior to India move. There was another Nigerian connection, but will bring that to you next week. When I put the search in for Ade's music, I was delighted to find recent footage, from a concert in Seattle!!! The first one here translates as "Master of My Table" and then "Passion". Groovy Sunday everyone...

  1. I feel there's nowhere you have not been, surely in spirit if your feet have not gone.
