WYSIWYG

What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menontissipashun [men-on-tissy-pay-shun]; hanging on by a thread

The countdown is close to ending. There has, however, been a fly in the sugar, a bug in the bowl, a gremlin in the system... a mouse in the plan of this (wo)man.

The day of departure has been altered. Not by me. By the airline. It was a change made back in August. Only I didn't notice. I saw that the departure TIME had been brought forward half an hour. No biggie, thinks the YAMster.

Then she looks at the details prior to printing the ticket and relevant info. Bumped forward A DAY!!!

SAY WHAT??!!!! There was disbelief... bordering on grief... no - that's overstating it. Stop the menodramatics wummin. Better found out now than turning up a day ahead. It might have happened you know. That's menopolyxinaemia fur ya.  A quick search on flights and why this might have happened revealed that the original day (4th) was a booked out flight;I think what happens is, with specials on pricing being available, if that gets oversubscribed, they bump the regular payers forward. In fact, the state of the flight which is being taken (5th) is looking a bit jam-packed too. Sardine class. Not really. But close. After lots of deep breathing and OM-chanting, perspective was restored and the loss a day in OZ was forgiven.

Heaven knows why so many folk are flying at that time... though I have a suspicion it may be related to Deepavalli (Diwali), which is on the 10th and lots of Indians would fly via the mid-East. Hey ho and sigh, oh my.

I lament this to you now for you will find that there will be a post on Wednesday proclaiming my departure. It was part of that great push to pre-post everything. Only today and tomorrow had been left for last minute stuff ... like this. So don't believe what you read. Think a day ahead. That will keep you in the timewarp thing like will be happening to me as I cross timezones and such like. Or not.

The sharing kinda person I am.

Meanwhile, as I checked around and finalised packing, some of the stuffies got a bit agitated; Eric got put into the bags and they all thought they'd have a go at getting included - Herr Hellmutt and Orson the Ovine were particularly keen, especially as I had one of my new RedBubble totes to take in the cabin...

Have to admit, it was a wee tad menosukhi saying farewell to them all, but someone has to guard the house in my absence...

Headed over to Edinburgh for a few days with the father before departure.
