Me-Now-Views; Last Longing Look

As promised from the final post on the OZ Venture on Friday, here are the few remaining shots taken as we flew over the wide brown land to the North and West.

NSW was under a cloud... or 87...

But South Australia was pretty clear.... that's the summer version of Lake Eyre down there...

...and that is the Simpson Desert at its finest...

Roe Creek and billabongs, between Alice Springs and Pine Gap...

Remember that cumulonimbus? After the almighty crack of lightening, came the thunderous downpour.

The carpet of cloud relaid at the the NW side of the island continent. Out over the sea we went...

    2. Mum and Dad have been to Lake Eyre a few times. They've seen it both full and empty. They reckon it's beautiful either way but the bird life when it's full is something to be seen.

  7. Beautiful pictures! As I've told you, my husbands company has a big manufacturing facility in Australia and he has spent many months there. When I retire I'll go with him. With Godparents who were Australian by birth as were my first, late husband's parents, I need to visit.

  8. Mum and Dad have crossed the Simpson desert by 4WD. They were overawed with the beauty. Most people do it in a group. Mum and Dad were all alone and one day they travelled all day without seeing another vehicle. Camped overnight ..... took off the next morning and again didn't see anyone all day. They loved it.

  11. Yam thank you for the link. OH MY GOSH the aerial shots are truly out of this world breathtaking..especially the thunder clouds. I sure would like to go to Australia. I fear my sciatica would behave very poorly if I sat that long.
When we travel by car I need to take walking breaks about every 1 1/2 hours. Which is why we will head to the B.A.R. nearly a week early. LOL
Otherwise I'll have a very cranky sciatica.
