Not having the blogroll on the sidebar is throwing me about a bit - there were actually about half a dozen (may be one or two more) blogpals who don't use the friends gadget and I relied on their urls showing up when they had posted... now - apart from those which I can locate via other mates' blogrolls - I am going to have trouble relocating them. Sigh... Lesson? If using urls only for linking, make sure there is a copy somewhere offline!
Anyhoo; the main thing to tell you today is that I have travelled over to Edinburgh for the bi-monthly visit to the father. Wouldn't you know it, the weather is grand over this side! (We had major storms last week.)
Yesterday Mac1 came over for lunch - I made broccoli and Stilton soup, with some soft cream cheese in it too, and some quinoa and broadbean dumplings. Slurp! After lunch we piled in the car and drove up to see progress on the new road bridge across the Firth of Forth... more on that later. Today I just want to share one photo with you.
This little fellow and his dad Mark were walking up from the shoreline after what had clearly been a fun outing. All the way up the hill "Archie" had his keen, sharp eyes on me and I had mine on him! We met and immediately shared some fur-luvin greetings. He even posed nicely for this click - isn't he smart?
This week is also a special week as it is Navratri - the nine nights of the Goddess. You can read about the different forms and what they represent here. It is the week in which the feminine is warmly and beautifully celebrated and there are very tasty morsels made each day for snacking. (Generally, strongly devoted ladies fast during each day of this period, only eating after sunset.)
I am not fasting for each day, bit will do so on the Dussera - the 10th day after the nine nights; the tasty morsels are being modified so that the father can join in. Even if he doesn't realise that's what he is doing!!!
Hooroo.

That is a good phodograph of Archie - I'd like to sniff his butt and then play with him. Mimi says that your lunch sounds yummy and that she is going to find out more about Navratri.

DeleteYAM, this is very interesting reading. I appreciate the part that both feminine and masculine are required for balance. That seems to have been severely watered down in Christianity. One must look deeply at the scriptures to see the feminine. I found it quite significant that the first to know of the risen Christ were women! May you be blessed in this time of celebration!
Aw he is so cute!
