What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

MenoSundays; Life Lived Lovingly

The last Sunday of 2018. Tomorrow, I bring you a ceilidh (of sorts), it being Hogmanay and all.

Today, though, let us simply reflect on the year that's been and the one to come. The world is certainly in a groove of left or right, black or white, yours or mine at the moment. I know that one of the things I wish to carry forward even in the face of opposition is that we are all one; we are In The One.

It is not that one cannot recognise that each individual comes with their own story to tell and sometimes that is dark, bleak, miserable, degrading... dangerous. However, it is that individual's story. Even if it crosses mine and leaves its mark, I have the choice to move on from it. We all have the choice to linger or to shift. Yes, that can be hard. We must, however, guard against emotional malingering. The world has no patience for it so we only dig a pit for ourselves if we expect it to hold out sympathy.

By all means feel the wounds and hurts, but resolve to heal by not succumbing to fear or hatred. In healing ourselves of this, through acts of understanding, forgiveness, acceptance, we also start to heal those around us. Healing spreads.

This kind of healing is Love in Action. It is knowing that there are risks and pitfalls everytime we poke our heads into life but being prepared to go out and grab the light anyway. The light of Nature which remains resilient despite all that is thrown at it; the light of a shared moment on our train or bus to town; the light of a creature finding a morsel; the light which adding a smile to the dollar thrown into a hat will bring to the eye of the receiver...

The light we feel within is the same in each and every living thing. If we let it, that light will ignite other lights, where they have dimmed. We simply have to choose to do this. To overcome our reserve, our prejudices, our fears and dislikes.

See that One Light. Let it burn bright within.

Blessings and Love and Light to you all, dear readers, and may you find joy in 2019.

  4. 2018 if I could give it a grade I would say it was slight above average. We all have our story with good and not so good.
But I wish you blessed New Year

  6. this is my all time favorite of all your posts that I have read in the past. I agree 100 percent with every word you said and wish I had the ability to say what you said in the way you said it. If all of us could live like this we could cure the hostility of our world. I don't know how your part of our world is, but here there is hostility on every corner in about 90 percent of people. thank you for this beautiful, thoughtful post.

  7. With all the news in our nation it has been a challenge to just pull back and be positive. Since summer and the elections I have worked hard to have only positive posts to facebook. I still allow some venting on the blog.
