Menoffroadery; Shout Out for Dunoon

Turns out one of my new pals on the Instything happens to live at the foot of my hill, right on the shore of Dunoon's West Bay. He's a chap who has travelled the world and has chosen this wee toon to settle down. He bought a run-down hotel, renamed it Puck's Rest, and is in the process of making it a centre for those who like the more extreme side of outdoor activities.

One of the things Josh has been instrumental in is getting a cross-country biking event to run and if you watch the video closely you'll see him and Nero, his collie, on their paddleboard then another very brief glimpse of Nero shortly after that. (The ferry seen here is NOT the Dunoon ferry, but the one to the Isle of Bute, so not sure what was going on with that. Well, sponsorship, I suppose and they do run the passenger ferry, just not that boat.... sorry, got distracted.)

If you would like to see a little more about the 'dirt dash' itself, then you can read about it and watch a slightly longer video from the track, HERE, (at bottom of page). At about the 5m25s mark, they ride along the promenade and up to Pucks Rest (with a tiny glimpse of Nero again!)

  1. I'm now wondering how Bertie would fare on a paddleboard.
Not as calmly as Nero, I suspect...
    Cheers, Gail.

  7. How fun that you made a local connection through the instathingy. We think Gail and Bertie should try paddle boarding too.
