This image rather sums up life for the YAMster at the moment! During my recent 3.5 week stint over in Edinburgh in care mode, there were two one-day dashes back to the Hutch in Mac1's car, with the father tagging along. The first of these I reported to you.
The second was last week, and entirely due to the matter of having to vote.
In OZ, I could alert the electoral office if I wasn't going to be in my usual place, and nominate an alternative polling station to which I could then rock up quite happily and carry on as normal. Here in the UK, one is tied to one's address. An alternative is to opt for a postal vote OR select a proxy person. As I know only one person I would entrust with this task, and given she was going to be absent herself, that left me looking into the first of these alternatives.
The postal vote choice didn't go very far though. Turns out they will only send to the established address anyway. So even if I'd completed that option, I'd still have had to return to the Hutch to pick it up.
So, the Macs had another day trip 'doon the watter' as the YAMster executed her civil right and also picked up a few items to place under the family tree back in Edinburgh. On the drive back, in the gloaming, I captured the Port Glasgow town hall in quite the blur - but not so much blur, as smudge and therefore, 'art'...
Hey, if this bloke can get $120k for taping a banana, surely I have the right to declare my abstract shots as art??!!
Definitely one up on the duck taped banana!
ReplyDeleteExactly YaYa....and your photo does NOT have any bad brown spots on it either.
ReplyDeleteI declare it's worth to be 2x the nanner
Hugs HiC
That banana shot was ridiculous!!! What a joke!!! We would nominate your photos any day for the first place award!!!
ReplyDeleteHope things can calm for you for a bit. Mom fully understands as she has to be eyes for Dad for just about everything right now:(
Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Your picture is a master piece compared to that banana. It sounds like you have had a busy time lately. I hope you can have a peaceful holiday season to come.
ReplyDeleteBest of all, you voted.
ReplyDeleteYes you do!!!! Your abstract shot is most definitely art!
ReplyDeleteI know how hard these days must be for you. Take good care of yourself... In our state, we have a strong mail-in ballot law so I even vote by mail when I am home :)
absolutely!!! and you can sell it for a million ;o)
ReplyDeleteI agree!
ReplyDeleteIt was quite the election...
Hi Yam - you voted and that's the important thing ... perhaps it was good for your father to have a ride out. I know it's been tough for you ... but you'll appreciate having taken the time to be with and look after your father during this time. Take care and have a peaceful season - cheers Hilary
