Well, the news I had rather thought might be coming, has... but it's not all bad.
The good news for Fletcher is that he has been adopted by a young family in Norfolk and he has bonded quickly with the son, so he will live the life he no doubt really desires! Meanwhile, let us become acquainted with Spirit.
Fletcher dear sweet boy...are where you should be and I know there will be lots of very special moments with your new 'boy'. What you have already learned will be very beneficial in the care and training of your new brother.
ReplyDeleteSpirit what a wonderful name for guide dog and I think is speaks to the success of your training

May Fletcher get to live his best life. A colleague adopted a guide dog dropout, who was recently called to the bridge after 15 years. She said she was the best dog she ever had. May Fletcher be the same to his new family. Looking forward to Spirit's progress.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely reports. May both live long healthy lives, and know much love.
ReplyDeleteWe hope so much for these dogs. The trainers work so hard to get them to the starting gate! It's OK that Fletcher found a family as he was not going to be a service dog. Now we concentrate on Spirit.
ReplyDeleteWishing the best for Fletcher
ReplyDeleteI am very glad that Fletcher is going onto a great life in which he may be much happier. And I am thrilled about Spirit. Thanks for sponsoring him!
ReplyDeleteI wish him a long and happy life.

Sending handsome Fletcher and his new family good wishes for a wonderful life together. And how right it is that great care is taken to ensure that only the dogs with the necessary character traits are chosen to be guide dogs. We'll be looking forward to seeing how Spirit progresses.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Gail.

ReplyDeleteWe couldn't be any happier for you, Fletcher!

ReplyDeleteAnd a big hello to Spirit 😊
It's win-win, really. A family has a well-trained doggie, and Fletcher will be happier.
ReplyDeleteAll the best for your new sponsor!
Well, we are sad that Fletcher worked so hard and then didn't make it. But he learned a lot from his experience, and we bet his handler did too. We know that he will make that family very happy. We look forward to learning more about Spirit and his progress.
