What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Me-Now-Views; Less Speak More Peek... And Peek Is Key Here!

Today I bring you the Eurasian Magpie - a juvenile who was seeking beetles from around the window then got enamoured of the ornamental Blue Tit sitting inside with the 'hyoomon'!!!

These are one of the garden birds which have less than attractive voices...

  2. I think my favourite ever episode of Radio 4's 'Tweet of the Day' series, certainly the most memorable, was children's author Michael Morpurgo on the Magpie.

  7. We can’t all sing arias – and just look at the intelligent question in the gaze in that last photo. All corvids are magnificent, and that one is simply delightful. (That is F’s view. I, the Tigger, had my reservations about the corvids in my garden. They did however help me to chase the foxes and squirrels away so they were not entirely bad. They got fed on my leftovers and rejected food, and definitely recognized my humans. F has been trying to make friends with the newly fledged baby hooded crows here. She’s hopeless.)

I must admit, Tigger, that I have a soft spot for the corvid family of birds - though I do consider the magpies to be the 'gangsters' of the clan!!! Yxx

  8. Love it! Love it! Love it! Silly bird and so adorable. And you're right I wouldn't want to have that noise going on outside my window very much for very long. It kind of sounds like a miniature machine gun

  9. I think that if I were to ever move to the country (hoping), I would really check out what type of bird resides in the area. If it's jackdaw and magpie, I might give the best house in the world a big miss.

  13. How funny that the bird was trying to get to the "birds" inside.
