What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.
It is a rather ethereal - possibly magical - instrument, the theremin. There is no doubt that Carolina Eyck is an absolute master of it. The theremin has been a much-maligned instrument and never really taken seriously.
I was curious to find some performances which showcase its worth on the concert stage. So in case you haven't guessed by now, that's the theme for October's listening! Let's begin with one of my very own personal fave pieces of Rachmaninoff.
Ditto to Bertie and Gail...I listened and watched then I googled the instrument and found Caroline explaining how she does it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0n-o71RUrQw
I am in awe...of her abilities. Thank you for showcasing her again. Hugs Cecilia
wow that is amazing!!! I was puzzled first but then the penny dropped... I wonder why she wears no shues? is it a kind of ritual to feel the ground on the feet?
Just so fascinating to watch the instrument being played.
