WYSIWYG

What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menoloopal; A Wee Tad Foostered

I know that many of you have grumbled regarding the recent Blogger "update". Until now I have wrangled with it reasonably well - wouldn't go as far as to say happily.

However, this weekend I hit a real confustication. I wanted to redecorate, as I have tended to do, for the new season. I was horrified to find they had "simplified" the editing options for the templates to near uselessness. All that can be changed is the background and the main body text. Aarrggghh...
No way to change the pages banner. No way to change the sidebar items. No way to alter the hyperlink colours.

In short, customisation is virtually nil. I am foostered. Bunglerated. Aerofizzery. Jumping up and down menoloopal. I had managed to make Blogger sing and dance for me up till now.

So dear readers, you have to deal with the minimal changes that CAN be made. They are not to my liking, but there it is. One is tempted to 'shop around'... but then again, better the devil one knows, yeah?

We are getting some stunning sunrises at the moment...

  1. Oh dear...I have been as you said ok. I haven't tried to make a new header or change my background yet.
YIKES!!! I just assume it would be as always.
I had hopes of making a new header in the next few days now that is TBD.
    Hugs to you and yours

  2. Wow to that sunrise. There is nothing makes a sunrise special like a few clouds. As for blogger about the best you can do is pick between half a dozen template models and F and i quickly came to the conclusion that life is too short to waste time sweating over it. Go out and dance somewhere (or go sand swimming) instead. Have a good week YAM-aunty. Furrings & purrings Mr T

  3. I hope you don't go shopping. I've learned Wordpress for WP friends. I've learned Notepad for NP friends. They aren't better. There probably are more, but who? Better the devil you know.

That's exactly right, Joanne; I do have a WP a/c which I set up for the A-Z a while back - quite like some of the differences, but in the end, it comes out the same... it's just so frustrating to have one's creativity cramped for the sake of uniformity!!! Yxx

    2. I think they've changed it to make the template work on smartphones. It's driving me nuts, too.

  10. Such a beautiful sunset....so unlike Blogger!

The new year will have me changing things up and starting to make the move to Wordpress, taking my time of course, hope to be done by Spring when the blog may take a change of direction.

I've kinda had it with Blogger.

  11. Hi Yam - I need to spend time with my next post (very unlikely) to get Blogger to do what I'd like it to do ... changing templates is beyond my ken .... but love your Sunset - while your bright template certainly shines through the darkness ... take care - Hilary
