What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menoovering Along

Thank you, dear friends, for all the lovely messages via comments yesterday. It feels a little 'naked' to be talking out loud about this process, but it is also necessary for my sanity. I am not one for headaches, but this week there has been a heavy, low-grade rumbler and it is mainly centred behind the eyes. I came to understand this morning for myself that it is a dam behind which lies a reservoir of unshed tears.

Fear not. I'll be right, mate. It's just a process which must be endured. The worsening before the betterment comes. Our third lady I found to be delightful. From Nigeria and clearly has experience in handling elders. I am confident she can do the job required, though may need to slow down a little to engage dad's cooperation. Frankly, I know that he will not trust her, but I shall have to keep reassuring him she knows what she is doing. I just hope he behaves himself when I am not there...

Our spirits were lifted with a surprise knock at the door yesterday. Our dear blogpal and friend, Mara, sent us a bouquet. This was overwhelmingly thoughtful and generous. I feel so lacking in my ability to return kindness at the moment, but I believe you all know and understand this is simply due to the fatigue.

I leave you today with a sharing of those beautiful blooms...

  1. YAM...Sounds like 3 is indeed a charm. Sending you all kinds of thoughts and prayers and well wishes.
I really don't like a headache it makes one feel bad all over.
Mara is such a lovely friend...and very thoughtful. Just what you needed to brighten your day and home.

I understand this statement: "I feel so lacking in my ability to return kindness". You are overwhelmed...please accept my assurance that your kindness is display every single day here. Kindness comes in many forms...yours currently is virtual and that works perfectly.
Love and Hugs HiC and BCat

  4. That Mara is just the very best. When love is sent in the form of flowers accept it with the warm hug it is meant to be. Cause there are times you are to be cared for instead of your doing the caring. Let your friends help you and do not attempt repayment. Accept the love and support. Still in my prayers. namaste, janice xx

  5. What a lovely surprise to help lift your spirits from Mara. We're glad to hear the next care giver was a good one too and hope they all are.

  6. They are breath taking. A treat. Perhaps those little goldies are zinnias that I became so familiar with this summer. But, don't count on me for an identification. Hope all goes well with your vetting of the health aides.

  8. Dear Yamini.
Sending you love and hugs from Doha.
Your words "The worsening before the betterment comes." say it all. I hope that your headache has eased by now. I'm sure you know all there is to know about taking in deep breaths and releasing the breath in deeper sighs--it helps. Or even breathing out with Ah sound.
Your friend's gesture is so beautiful.
I wish you feel better real soon my dear blog sister.
    Hugs. xx

  10. "The worsening before the betterment comes." - the darkest hour before the dawn. Having endured a few 4-8 (morning) watches at sea I have always wondered about that saying, but it is a particularly good opportunity to see shooting stars. Maybe your flowers are the shooting stars in your firmament right now. xxxx Mr T and F (and Mr B now too)

  11. All you can to is the best you can, Yam. It is terribly difficult. I found it helped writing about it all, as it gave me perspective.
You are in our thoughts. xx
