WYSIWYG

What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menoffanriddy 2020

Time for it to go! Of course, the realist in me has no expectation of waking up tomorrow and finding that it has all been a nightmare and now the sun is shining and all is well with the world. Indeed, I fully expect the world to continue just as it has been, with a touch or two of light shining through with promised remedies and ........

Yes, well. In the end, we are all responsible for our own wee part of the bigger picture. At this end, I have been sorting through some things and doing a wee bit of rearranging in the Hutch. Nothing radical, but enough to feel like I am properly back and that things are fresh and ready for another year. I mentioned earlier in the week that I have a pile of reading to get started upon, but there are also crochet projects, getting back into a daily discipline for exercise, meditation and writing.

Even this blog has had considerably less worthy writing in recent months. I plan to try and up my game on that - for my betterment and, hopefully, your enjoyment.

Which reminds me to remind you, per the message top left of sidebar, as of tomorrow's post, the publish time is being pushed to midnight, so wherever you are, it will appear 5.5 hours later than you've been used to. The main reason for this is that due to various changes within Google over the past couple of years, I have lost the '.in' part of my URL and then, more recently, the IST (Indian Standard Time) by which I was posting also disappeared. Something to do with Google domiciling in Ireland and bringing everything in line for Brexit. So, this year, I have been battling to remember to post at 1830h instead of 0000h and also doing that in the date before the actual post was due.

Naturally, now I have decided to accept GMT and post at 000h again on the actual date of the post, I will probably slip a couple of times because I have become habituated to the earlier time!!! But overall it will make my scheduling of posts rather simpler to keep track of - particularly on the photo bloggy, as I tend to schedule a month at a time over there.

Anyway, it's an administrative point which affects you directly, so you are duly warned!

Now, off you go and enjoy this last day of the annus horribilus that called itself of equal vision...

  1. Good to hear that you are settling back into the Hutch and beginning to feel prepared for the new year. This blog has never been dull, but I'll look forward anyway to seeing what appears here if you find more time and energy for new writings.
    Cheers, Gail.

  3. Gosh, Yam. We had snow, then ice pellets, then rain, now snow. I put on the fire, thinking of Ice Storm '98, just in case. You never know!

  4. I think your blog has been a true reflection of life. Which we all needed to see in 2020. I have plans to tidy my home office tomorrow and over the weekend out the holidays away and be ready for the newish year. With lockdowns again, it won't feel that new! Happy new year!

  5. We are all looking forward to a new year even though we know change will come slowly. But yes, at least we can see a flicker of a light down that long road.

  6. We can only hope that 2021 ends better than 2020 has. We have our paws crossed that life can get back to normal sometime next year.

  7. We are glad you are feeling more settled. The animals have settled into Midway, as has #1 Son. For me, life has changed dramatically and I am ready for a re-invention of self. I look forward to you sharing your changes with us! Thank you for your sharing. It has helped me get through. What would I have done without you my friens to make me laugh and wonder during these tough times. Here's to many more years of friendship! Happy New Year!

  9. I agree with you that turning the calendar page won't make it all better. But, there is hope that 2021 will be better - and that will make people smile, at least for a day.

Oof, I sound negative. I've been trying to focus on the things that were good in 2020. I know that it's been one heck of a year for you so that may be hard. I truly hope that 2021 is easier for you.

  14. That idea of 'nest-clearing' with a view to facing the next day in a different mind-set is on the lines of what you posted earlier about the difference being how we choose to react to the stuff that happens. It takes a lot of resolve sometimes so we hope yours has bounced back and we look forward to your bloggings in 2021. All strength to your typing fingers says Mr T. 15. I don't have to deal with time like you do, i just set it all to go at 12:30 am, the big problem is my memory loss. I find i do the time on pm, or forget to change the time, or publish on the wrong date. it should be simple. I pic the date, and time and hit publish and it works. but that simple thing is always a mees. last year i publish about 5 post before i wanted to and a few that did not post because i put the wrong time. all me, not blogger.
I wish for you and all our blogger friends and me, a much better year than this last one. that said, at my age and bob's age i am much in doubt that will happen.
