WYSIWYG

What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

This month here at the Wild YAMster's bloggy, you are going to be regaled with words related to feelings and happenings of the last twelve months. Oh yes, you know of what I talk.  This is to be the ALPHABET OF AAARRGFIZZZ... We've all had to deal with it. This will be a reflection purely from my point of view. You don't necessarily have to agree with what I say; just appreciate where it's coming from. Normal service will resume on May Day. (By which time I may be yelling that down the ether phone loud and repetitively!)

There is really only one word that stuck in my head when considering these posts.

Kindness.

Throughout life, but surely in these recent times, kindness has really stuck out when present... or is it that when one is in dire straits, kindnesses that were already present are simply more felt and appreciated?

For me, kindness was found from the father's neighbours, from my siblings, even from the lovely grocery delivery drivers. However, it doesn't have to be in a 'real life' presence. Some of the most moving and poignant kindness I felt as the year got heavier has been through here - this blog. The connection I have with my regular readers is really rather profound - proven by the number of you with whom I have the 'behind the scenes' email experience.

Kindness is the physical/verbal expression of that capital 'ell' Love, the underpinning of all that is good and bright in the world. It can be explosive. When one is in a dark space, only a few gentle words of understanding can kickstart the heart. Or it can be as simple as the leaving of a hand-picked bouquet on the doorstep...

That's all I have to say today.

See you tomorrow for the ongoing saga. Please be aware that there is more I amAZing over at

  8. Hi Yam - absolutely ... it is so easy to be thoughtful and thus kind ... think before we speak, and offer to help - as well as smile and thank people. So so agree - excellent K - all the best - Hilary

  17. Is there a connection between kin and kindness I wonder - sort of is, even if not in the origins of the words.

Etymologically there is no connection - but there is no reason that we cannot think of the fact that we tend to be softer and more thougtful to our kin that when we express that more widely it becomes kindness (which originates from olde English with a meaning of 'nation' or 'good action'...)
