WYSIWYG

What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

MENOLOOPAL - HISSING AND SPITTING...

Viewers - please be aware I had a post here as per usual... but there has been an update on Chrome that has gone all 'redwall' and malware alert and it has taken upon itself to declare the post originally here as 'malware'... which is absolutely ridiculous, for it took precisely the same form as all posts preceding it. I am uncertain whether this is going to happen with all upcoming posts now... posts at both other blogs for today have also been nixed... most worrying.  Your patience as I sort through this will be appreciated.

Worth noting that last night I wasn't being allowed to enter my dashboard or read any blogs from Blogger (as I say, red wall and "you must update to enhanced protection mode" blah blah blah...) Sigh... Anyone else had the same issue??? YAM xx

NB - around midday BLOGGER 'REVIEWED THEIR REVIEW AND RECONSIDERED AND REINSTATED THE POST'... but I leave this here in protest at the palpitations they caused me. The original post here has been rescheduled. Yxx

  3. No but I have an irritating extra security check applied to the reading list which I can't remove and which drives me mad.

  4. OH YAM I'm so sorry and how frustrating when one day all is fine and a few hours later topsy turvy
So far ok on this end; however, it the day is early.

It is probably due to the Chrome update last night... at first everything Blogger was red-walled and I couldn't see even my own dashboard because it was 'dangerous' - so was your site and Bertie's blog and many others. I have since heard that a few other bloggers had the same issue so it is a general problem and not specific to me; which is a relief, albeit still very annoying! The days of beta-testing all software before launch are long gone, it seems... Yxx

No, it was definitely due to a Chrome update going rogue. Nothing to do with spamming or hacking. I am less than pleased with Google for not putting up an apology on the forums - yet... Then I just got Molly's post sayint they don't use Chrome... so may have been to do with the tinkering under the hood with regard to removal of the Feedburner widget... Yxx

  7. I don't have Chrome but I did get emails from the Blogger Team letting me know that they had taken posts down and then they were reinstated. I sure hope this annoyance ends soon. It's just ridiculous!

  8. Oh dear, how very frustrating. No problems this end, but then I didn't try to post anything today.
    Hoping things go smoothly now.
    Cheers, Gail.

  9. Not a problem at my end at all. No emails, nothing blocked and everything as it should be. Mind you, I only have things pre-posted for next week at this point.

  10. How frustrating to have your system messed up like that. We hope they figure out how not to have this happen again.

  11. I think it happened to many of us, Yam. I wasn't posting, so I had no problem that way, but to access all those "malicious" blogs, I clicked a information type button in the lower left, then clicked on "proceed if you really want to visit this terrible site". So I read everyone last night.

  12. Yes! It happened here! I use FireFox and I sent 3 missives to Google. Then I tried Chrome - NO red wall! And Brave (if you are on a MAC iOS Brave is terrific) no red wall! Hmmmm....I tried FireFox about 3 hours later after posting Artsy Cauturday using Brave and checked NO PROBLEMS with Firefox and the blog. I think it was a glitch which they quickly reversed. Today...no problems at all.

  13. that would have been the end of our blogging! F can't cope with non-routine stuff happening in her rote learned cyber world. If it goes off track, she goes like an ostrich; which is odd because she can cope with off-script stuff in all other parts of life... we follow a few blogs that had recorded this mad stuff happening to them and are pleased to read that you have been restored (if not received any explanation or apology). Is that something we have to get used to in global tech world - no explanation, no apology, no customer service? Is that because they think everyone is like F and can't (or won't) move their business?

It is more likely due to the fact that the user's choices are somewhat limited when it comes to 'other business' to move to... unless one is tech-savvy. Earlier in life (remember my first career was as an analyst programmer) I did follow the opensource route... but in the end, Google is quite elegant and end-user-friendly. Mostly. And I'd rather be using my time reading or writing. Yxx

  14. I have not had that issue. Sorry for the palpitations. I have had a post or two on Facebook removed that I challenged. Programming errors I suspect. namaste, janice xx
