WYSIWYG

What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menopuzzling Monday

Okay, having completed all that memoir bizzo, I kinda sorta found myself needing to fill in the minutes that were once taken up on the pondering and preparation time for those posts. I knew they involved quite a bit of my clock space (not that you'd necessarily know it from the output results...), but it is only now that I am not having to prepare them that I realise just how much they occupied me!!! Thus, I went looking for something different to fill the time and space. Lord help you all, I've discovered creating crosswords...

Yes, my darlings, being a lover of crosswords (and other word-ly things), I went a-hunting for an embeddable puzzle, but by routes only the interwebs can fathom, I was presented with the possibility of creating puzzles of my own. Oh my dear cheeze'n'us, have I discovered a cruciverbalist's heaven? Jigsaws, crosswords... are you safe from this Menopuzzling Madwummin???

Now, for these, you need to click the little cross at the top right, and it will take you into the interactive puzzle. (It's annoying that the cover page shows up and the help pages are rather minus on the website, but I am hoping I can tidy up how that appears (yes, that's a warning there will be more 😱) Remember, it's just for fun...

PEE-ESS... FOR THOSE WHO MIGHT STRUGGLE A WEE BIT, IF YOU LOOK AT TOP RIGHT FROM THE GRID, YOU CAN CHOOSE TO REVEAL A LETTER, A WORD - OR HAVE THE PUZZLE SOLVED IF YOU REALLY GET MAD WITH IT!

Abbey IS the word... and once one word is in, one can start to get thoughts for the words that intersect - I am fairly certain you can get the bottom word that ends in Y... xx

  4. So it seems Wordle has made its way across the pond. Murphy and Stanley's mom loves this daily challenge.
I tried it unsuccessfully but I am RATHER good a Words With Friends.

This isn't Wordle... it is straightforward crossword, but I have to learn all the tricks and such - how to block squares and the like. Am having a lot of fun doing others' c/ws over at Crosshare - and finding those who seem to really know what they are doing and learning from what I don't like about some... &*> Yxx

  6. I used to give this as a pen and paper assignment for students! Then I found one online and used to make puzzes with their spelling words. Oh, the good old days!

  7. So the comments had me intrigued. Took me a while to get into the mindset. Completed in just over 8 minutes. (Had to guess the Aussie slang!)
    Cheers, Gail.
