What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

MenoSundays; Life Lived Lovingly

Everyone waits for love; nobody wants to give it. If you wait to be loved, you may have to wait for a lifetime! But to give love is your choice; it is in your hands. Therefore, be an active giver of love. Do not be a passive receiver. Just give, give, give, give...

The moment you choose to love, you are drawing it up from the wellspring of your understanding; you are already experiencing love, independent of how the world reacts! And there is greater joy in actively giving than in passively receiving. In giving, you are a master; in receiving, you are a slave.

  1. this is so true. I have always been a happy smiling person, but even more so since 2005 when eating at a table with 7 homeless men, I asked them what was the thing they most wanted as homeless people. one of the men said we want people to SEE us, to look at us and smile and speak and everyone at the table agreed. they said the public turns away, ignores them, are afraid of them. Since then when I see anyone, homeless or just people entering or leaving I speak and smile. I can't tell you how many times I have heard these words, You have a beautiful smile. the last time was at walmart coming out and I saw a young man in his early twenties coming in the out door, I flashed a smile and said Good Morning and was shocked when he smiled really big and said You have a beautiful smile. and then he said I like your shirt. Smiles are easy to give and they say Love and make others feel good

    2. Does giving love mean like cheering them up at the tax office? We probably don't smile enough, but we do try to have generous and kind thoughts when we encounter homeless people for instance, Madsnapper is right about that.

A smile and a kind word cost nothing but their value to others is worth a mint

  7. We've always heard that it is better to give than receive and this applies to love too.

  9. So true! The joy of giving.
I remember my late father here. He used to say, when we do good to others, never expect anything in return. But we will be blessed and there will surely be a reward for our good deeds, in some manner, may be for us, may be for our someone in our family; good deeds are always rewarding.
