Menoizikul; Midweek Musicalisms

Going a bit gentler to see out March. This week, the magical voice of Floor Jansen. Need help remembering the name? It is she who has the operatic tones that grace the band Nightwish. You heard a couple of their items in January. Floor had treatment last October/November for breast cancer but was back on stage for the new year, having done really well. In 2022 she had been exploring other singing options, such as on the Dutch show Beste Zangers and the German Sing Meinen Song. This month (24th), she launches a solo album, from which this song is taken. She says of it:
'Invincible' is a song about resilience, about pushing through difficult times, and about finding the strength to start again. I believe that this message is one that will resonate with many, as PTSD affects 1 in 13 people in their lifetime, and women are twice as likely to develop it as men.

I hope that 'Invincible' will remind you that even in the darkest of times, there is always the possibility of coming out stronger. You are not alone, and no matter how difficult the journey may be, there is always hope for healing and self-discovery.

  2. Floor sounds like a strong and admirable woman. I don't love the song but I do love the fact that she has freckles.
    Cheers! Gail.

I believe that to be a 'rolling figure'; it is not that one in thirteen currently have some level of trauma response, but that overall, one in thirteen of the population will, at some point in their lives, be subject to a level of traumatic response... whether those could all strictly be classified as Post-Traumatic Stress (the use of 'disorder' is now discouraged) might be medically debatable, but this does not negate that living in this world is tough!
