I selected last week's and this week's quotes/inspirations as I needed to remind myself. As is the way of the universe, another blogger brought forth the following - another way of saying much the same thing! We can never have too many reminders to aid our focus.
Never too many reminders.
ReplyDeleteSome folk are too afraid of ditching the chapter they have worked so hard on, even when it becomes obvious the plot has fallen apart. It seems that even life gets a kind of writer's block.

DeleteYes, fear is a great anchor upon many... and not without foundation, depending on how radically a chapter requires re-writing... but as mentioned in response to MadSnapper's comment, we can remain where we are, but seek to change our own perception and behaviour. This is the essence of the first quote - that we change our own part in the story and discover that the story itself begins to change... Yxx
it works sometimes and sometimes it does not. sometimes the chapters can not be changed or given up.

DeleteTime and place may have to remain the same - but who we are within those is for us to control; we alone can chose our actions and reactions. If the old ways are not serving us, we can (though with some effort, which is to be admitted) make a change within ourselves and see those same places with different 'eyes'. Yxx
I must be the simplest of guys. I wake up every morning, put my pants on and go about my day. That's it!
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteSometimes change is good, I always try to control my actions and reactions. A great reminder. Take care, have a great day and a happy new week.
Hear hear YAM. I 100% agree

Thank you for sharing these reminders. You're right, never too many reminders.
ReplyDeleteThese are both reminders I need. Hope you are well. Lee and Phod and Lady
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely correct on both counts!
ReplyDeleteWe love your quotes and think they are good way to look at life.
ReplyDeleteQuite True.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on, and stay safe.
I heard a suggestion on a Matthew McConaughey sort of change your life type of streaming presentation. Tony Robbins noted he was training to drive a race car. At one point he had to make a sharp turn or hit the wall. His instructor told Robbins not to focus on the wall but the way he wanted to go. The instructor had to force Robbin's head to focus on the correct direction on the first four attempts. Finally on the fifth attempt Robbins focused on the road, not the wall. Poing being to focus on the goal and not on what one fears. namaste, janice xx
ReplyDeleteThat is so true.
ReplyDeleteSo true. Narrative therapists will lap it up straightaway.
