What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.
Inside Glasgow Cathedral. I have perhaps visited more interesting church buildings over the years, but there was no denying the imposing verticality and symmetry contained herein!
The photos here do a great job in demonstrating the verticality. Would a trip to Chichester Cathedral be a possibility while you're Down South? Cheers, Gail.
the stained glass is beautiful and to me it takes a back seat to the awesome arches. The architecture of the arches and the look of the stones are just amazing. I could sit on a bench and just absorb all the beauty for a long time. The building certainly inspires AWE!
Imposing certainly covers it.
ReplyDeleteAlmost overwhelming in size. namaste, janice xx
ReplyDeleteThat first stained glass window...
ReplyDeleteAnd the walls like tall trees reaching for the wooden barrel vault ceiling...
