The Grey Shrike-Thrush is a widely-distributed and well-populated bird in Australia. It is another of the wonderful 'carolling' callers. They endear themselves further by being 'life-maters'. Not the prettiest of the many bright birds of the country, there is still a delight in spotting one when it is heard!

This is a pretty enough bird with a comforting song.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely sound. I note that the scientific name is Colluricincia harmonica.
ReplyDeleteO, this is so nice!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful song she has!
ReplyDeletea pretty bird, no need for colorful feathers to be beautiful and he does sound happy and cheerful.
ReplyDeleteIt is very pretty really, just not as flamboyant as some Australian birds, or as downright outrageous as others, but its song is a cheerful greeting to the world and very appealing. I give it ten out of ten.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful song! No pomp and circumstance there, just glorious song! XX
ReplyDeleteYAM this might be one of my favorites...not too shrill. Either tenor or alto of the avian world
