Menoturals; Saturday Sounds

The Grey Shrike-Thrush is a widely-distributed and well-populated bird in Australia. It is another of the wonderful 'carolling' callers. They endear themselves further by being 'life-maters'. Not the prettiest of the many bright birds of the country, there is still a delight in spotting one when it is heard!

  4. a pretty bird, no need for colorful feathers to be beautiful and he does sound happy and cheerful.

  5. It is very pretty really, just not as flamboyant as some Australian birds, or as downright outrageous as others, but its song is a cheerful greeting to the world and very appealing. I give it ten out of ten.

  12. Loe the early mornings of spring with all the different bird sounds. This one is very nice too. Our Dylan is going into a summer molt so his song has slowed a bit.
