What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.
Trying to keep smiling here as I stand in an interminable 'non-EU' pasport holders queue at Schipol, while suppressing uncharitable thoughts about the idiots who voted for Brexit... Cheers! Gail.
A friend of mine just entered a hospice and he knows he will never return from there alive as the cancer invades ever more of his body. I doubt that he would find this aphorism especially applicable to his situation. And I know that when he and his wife weep together they view it as folly.
I agree 100 percent on the smiles, they are the best thing we can do and free to all. the weeping being folly, not so much. weeping is important, for me it is like that little things that sits on a pressure cooker and releases the steam so the lid doesnt blow off. perhaps the quote means weeping over spilled milk or things in the past that can't be changed
In life there is both joy and sorrow. While we need to stay "positive" as we cope with life, acknowledging loss and sadness has its place, perhaps with tears. And without feeling ashamed.
A simple smile makes heart smile.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on, and stay safe.
Taking it as it comes. Thanks for the reminder. Have a wonderful Sunday. <3
