Menoizikul; Midweek Musicalisms

The next three weeks are going to be taken up with the band called Citizen Soldier. I give you the blurb from their channel:

"Citizen Soldier was born in 2016 when frontman Jake Segura penned the lyrics to “Let It Burn” from a psychiatric hospital. Now practising as a clinical therapist, he implements intensely emotional lyrical themes on mental health into their music. The band presents an accessible message that combats stigmatization and provides a group therapy dynamic."

This first song I have chosen is a gentle intro for you, dear readers and listeners. I would rate this more as rock than metal, and a fair few of their songs fit that label more. However, where the lyrics or intention of a song demands it, they do ramp things more to the metal side, and I will step you toward that. I chose this particular song because it is very clear that it comes from Jake's personal history and demonstrates unambiguously what the band is about. One only has to read the comments on each of their videos to understand the reach and importance of this music.
