What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menoturals; Saturday Sounds

A true backyard bird down under is the Rainbow Lorikeet. This little parakeet is a true cheeky chappy/ess, eagerly becoming familiar with you as long as there is some tasty nectar or seeds on hand! And when all those voices are raised in chorus, you can barely hear yourself think! A couple of my own photos before the video of a bunch of them in typical feeding fashion.

  1. Rainbow Lorikeet certainly covers it. They seem to make a big mess in a small time.

  6. Ah, memories of Australia. These birds are such a part of the landscape, at least in the areas I visited, that the locals seem to barely notice them and when they did only to swear at them, but for me they were sheer delight and I loved every sighting of them.

  7. they are gorgeous and noisy. i could not stop smiling at them. love the butt shots. it sounds great for a few minutes but would not want the feeder under my window. jungle gardens has 2 of these birds, but they don't sing, or did not when I saw them. maybe because they are in captivity. such happy little beautiful birds
