So much colour and richness but would it have been a comfortable or cosy place to call home? I wonder whether folks of such wealth led a bitterly cold existence at times (in more senses than just the air temperature in their grand salons and living rooms).
ReplyDeleteHi Yam - the Wedgwood fireplace panel just brought back my talk on Stubbs and he way he learnt using the practice of 'ecorche' in sculpting and art-work. It must have been such an interesting visit - love it and your photos - cheers Hilary
