What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menonday Art Vibe; Home Hangs Series

On the walls of The Hutch, it would not surprise you to know, I also have art representing the third country in my background - India.

First, I'll share an item that was bought here, but produced as a result of the young Scottish artist having had a six-month residency in Delhi. There was a larger piece, which also had appeal, but not to the same extent as this smaller one, which contained so much that I could identify with... architecture, landscape, hints of the flora and fauna, as well as snippets of paper bearing the Devanagari script of Hindi and Sanskrit.

  8. We hope you (and Mac1) are enjoying the Birthday Week! What a glorious painting! The artist has truly captured the "Personality" of India! Where I lived in Vancouver was part of the Indian Punjabi Sikhs enclave (over 65% of the poplation) and my condo was just across a cranberry field from a large temple. I miss the celebrations - especially Vaisakhi and Khalsa celebrations which happened 2 weeks ago). They are the largest outside of India. And there is so much of that lovely orange colour. Thanks for sharing your painting! Barb
