WYSIWYG

What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Me-yes-visitors!!

Emm and Go-go are ghosting this post.  It's a Vedantic thing.  I'm playing sakshee (observer) on this one...

Take it away girls…

I am new to this blogging thingy, so please forgive me if it's not in the realm of YAM theme.

So day four in Mumbai today. Go-go and I decided we would do a temple tour. S-amma from the ashram booked an Ola cab for us and Krishna, our driver, was here at eight a.m.

After a breakfast of hot idlis (rice dumplings) and hot, hot sambar we set off.

First stop was the world-renowned Siddhivinayak Temple (Lord Ganesha). We got darshan within five minutes of entering the temple. Lord Ganesha is the eldest son of Lord Shiva and mother Parvati.  (Lord Ganesha is usually worshipped first before any task is undertaken.)

Second stop was the famous Mahalaxmi temple.  Laxmi is the wife of Lord Vishnu and is worshipped for health and wealth. Usually there is quite a wait, but we walked right in with no wait.

[NB FROM YAM - CANNOT LOCATE PHOTOS OR WEB PAGE FOR BHUVANESHWARI MANDIR!]
Back in our car again to the Bhuvaneshwar temple. Lots of steps to climb and we invoked the wind god, Lord Hanuman and lo and behold we get to the top of the stairs and there was Lord Hanuman himself. After chanting Hanuman Chalisa we proceeded to the main altar.

Next stop was Walkeshwar temple. Our driver Krishna suggested we see Gateway of India, which we did, but the sun was too hot to enjoy it more and we needed a toilet stop and some food as it was close to 1 PM. Our driver then drove us to a Movie mall, where we found wholesome food.  Chocoholic that I am, splurged on some chocolate cake. We then drove to Juhu and visited the Iskon temple (Hare Krishna ).

Go-go and I had a fantastic day, that was made special by the driver we had, Krishna. After all Krishna was the charioteer for Arjuna. We arrived at the ashram at around 5.30Pm. Exhausted and in need of a cup of tea and a shower.

That is it folks, until the next time. I am sure your regular blogger YAM will be on tomorrow.

  1. So nice to hear from one or two of Yam's friends, allowing her to blog without really blogging!

  2. Kay, I am not a blogger, and will never be. Pushed into a corner so to speak.

    Meanwhile our holiday continues.
