What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menoxtra - a little bit on the side

It's time to make Goulash with Grandma again!  (Micro-fiction fun...why don't you give it a go?) Use the picture prompt she provides to create simple, shortest of short, stories to tell its tale - kudos gained for using the weekly bonus word.  Today that is ZANY.

SY_Feb01

The groundhog woke late… it was the only explanation it had for the zany, warm weather…
(84 chrx)

“Call me zany” said Groat, “but did I dig all the way to Summer?!”
(66 chrx)

Down in the hol-low
The hollow so deep
Groundhog named Wall-ow
Arose from her sleep
The ball in the sky, oh!
What could she say?
Was warmest on record
For ground-hog day!*
(32 wds…or if I break my personal rule of including the spaces, it is 140 chrx!!!)

*sing to “Down in the Valley”

  3. Thanks to you, we may all be singing Groundhog carols every year. And if we aren't, we should. Your words were so musical, I knew it was a song before I reached the end! Oh, and love the name, "Groat."

  4. We hope the ground hog sleeps in late and doesn't see his shadow, How zany would that be?
