What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menosukhi Moment....

Couldn't resist sharing this for your Monday moment of 'feel good'.....

...it's a BBC clip, and as it's from the tubular, I do hope it is available for ALL of you to watch...

On another matter, that is menosukhi to me anyway, it was the festival of HOLI on March 6th and I cooked up a storm in the father's kitchen; to share the food Mac1 and the Maestro plus the two lady-neighbours. I painted their faces with the watered down food colouring and there wasn't much food left - enough for me and the pa to have for lunch next day... he's very fond of the egg curry!

...the mattar paneer tamatar is one of my faves... that's peas, cottage cheese and tomatoes in case you got lost! The gobi aachar (cabbage with fresh ginger and green chili) brought a bit of spice to otherwise mild foods.

I prepared entirely vegetarian foods for the father whilst I was over this time... even a Scottish family favourite called 'stovies'.  Traditionally, this would be served on Mondays with the dripping from the Sunday roast used to sweat off a pile of onions and potatoes and small amount of stock or gravy. There might be the addition of left over meats, or in our family and because it was the father who always cooked them, 'bully beef'. You know... the indescribable stuff out of a can...

Mine were made with leek, potato and vegetarian sausages with organic veggie stock powder and some black pepper, using butter in place of the dripping.

There was some left over... He asked for it again the next day!!! Yup, those really were vego snags, Pop!
