What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menobackagin; Dunoon-bound

Travelling back to Dunoon on Monday after a very enjoyable ten days. Those first two events attended at the Fringe were memorable. Sadly, the Thursday evening offering (the most expensive, the shortest and the most Scottish) was something of a let down. It had all the  makings of a good thing; the execution was not up to scratch.  Oh well.

On Saturday afternoon, though, it was The Maestro's show...(did I get round to telling you all that she got a 2:1 honours in her Music & Perf.Arts? For newcomers to the blog, my niece was born with a spectrum of genetically induced blindness, intellectual and physical impairment and has had a kidney transplant. She has already doubled her life expectency...) She and her group, "Equilibrium", gave a concert of their own compositions and it was amazing.  The Maestro has always entertained to a high level (keyboards and Clarsach are her instruments), but to see other members with equal and greater disability to her own create such heart-rending and uplifting sounds was incredibly impressive. Two of the girls used computers with specially designed equipment to bring forward their sounds. It was a sweet and wonderful end to a week of cultural intake.

Recall the Big Hirple? I mentioned that only two photos were managed on that outing. Might as well show them.

Neither of these particularly shows how heaving with bodies the whole place was.  I waited for gaps. Split second stuff.

But they show the SUN shine!!!  Look, folk in bare arms and shorts, for crying out loud.

The last picture is a gratuitous plug for RedBubble, just because....

  1. I know "heaving with bodies" and always was grateful for my 10x10 little sanctuary to watch the crowd go by.

  3. You did have a warm sunny day, yay! We still are stuck in the smoke. Love that last pic and our thought when we saw the other two was that there were a lot of people so you got it just right!
